RPMC holds Fourth Quarter Meeting

The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) of the Regional Development Council 5 held its fourth quarter meeting on November 3 at NEDA Region 5, Arimbay, Legazpi City. It was presided by NEDA Regional Director Agnes M. Espinas.

The RPMC endorsed the field inspection reports of projects in Sorsogon, Camarines Norte and Masbate. Issues and concerns affecting project implementation as well as recommendations were presented by the monitoring team. Implementing agency representatives who were invited during the meeting responded to the issues. The issues raised include insurgency in Masbate, lack of construction materials, delayed procurement of inputs, and difficulty in monitoring the National Greening Program. The monitoring report will be sent to the implementing agencies, local project monitoring committees and the local government units for appropriate action and information. The insurgency issue will be brought to the attention of the military and the police.

The Committee passed a resolution appealing to the National Commission for Culture and Arts to act immediately on the issue of the Barit Bridge in Iriga City in order not to hinder implementation of the Iriga-Buhi road improvement project.

The local project monitoring teams were encouraged to continue conducting joint monitoring with the RPMT. The proposed non-infrastructure project monitoring guidelines was also presented for review by the members.
