The Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) reorganized the technical working group (TWG) tasked to prepare the Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation (DRR/CCA)-enhanced Regional Physical Framework Plan (RPFP) 2017-2040 of the Bicol region. The preparation of the DRR/CCA-enhanced RPFP shall take into account the (a) Regional Spatial Development Framework (RDSF) 2015-2045, which adopted the National Spatial Strategy on concentration, connectivity and vulnerability reduction; (b) the development challenges and growth issues identified in the midterm assessment of the RPFP; and (c) the significant changes in population characteristics, urban patterns in cities and municipalities, land uses, infrastructure facilities and utilities, and other developments at the global and national levels.
The reorganized TWG is composed of representatives from the RLUC member agencies: DA, DAR, DENR, EMB, MGB, DILG, DOJ, DOST, DOT, DOTr, DTI, DPWH, HLURB, HUDCC, NCIP, OCD, PPDOs, and RDC-PSRs with BFAR and the Philippine Coast Guard as added members. They will be capacitated on GIS application, and physical/land use planning before the year ends. The final draft DRR/CCA-enhanced RPFP 2017-2040 will be presented to the RDC for approval and adoption in September next year.
