The NEDA Region 5 conducted a validation workshop with the government sector for the preparation of the CY 2017 Bicol Regional Development Report (RDR) on April 17 at Legazpi City. A total of 47 participants from regional line agencies, academes, and local government units attended the activity.
The validation workshop aimed to substantiate the initial data gathered on the accomplishments of the region vis-a-vis the first year of implementation of the Bicol Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022. The participants provided additional inputs on programs, activities and projects (PAPs) implemented; the results of the PAPs; the factors that affected the contribution of PAPS to the desired outcomes; and the outlook for 2018.
Following the validation workshop was the conduct of integration workshop with the non-government organizations (NGOs) on April 19 which was attended by 20 participants from different NGOs operating in the region. The integration workshop aimed to capture the contributions of the private sector in the achievement of the plan.
The RDR serves as an annual assessment of the region’s socioeconomic performance in relation to the Bicol RDP 2017-2022. It highlights the performance of key sectors using the indicators in the Results Matrices and provides strategic and policy direction to refocus regional priorities. The draft CY 2017 RDR will be presented to the RDC sectoral committees in May for endorsement to the RDC full council in June for approval.
