NEDA 5 holds RDIP consultation workshop

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 5 conducted a consultation workshop on the Regional Development Investment Plan (RDIP) for the second batch of participants on October 13, 2015 at the NEDA regional office. It was attended by representatives from DENR, DILG, DOH, LTFRB and PCA.

The activity aimed to present the revised Comprehensive Investment Program Guidelines (CIPG); orient the participants of the RDIP updating process; inform the participants on the FY 2017 budget calendar; and clarify related issues. The CIPG provides the principles, processes and requirements of the Bicol Regional Development Council (RDC) in the preparation of RDIP and regional budget proposal. The RDIP translates the Regional Development Plan into programs, activities, and projects (PAPs). The workshop also informed the participants on the Project Tracking System of NEDA Region 5. The system was created to know the status of a project from conceptualization, programming, funding, implementation, completion and operation.

The consultation served as a venue for revalidation of PAPs of the agency regional offices (AROs) and inclusion of the new PAPS in the RDIP. The workshop outputs will be presented during the Sectoral Committee Meeting on November 5 and 6 prior to endorsement to Bicol RDC. This is in accordance with Executive Order No. 325 which requires all concerned AROs to present and secure RDC endorsement of their budget proposals for the Fiscal Year following the current year.
