Bicol RDC Recognizes the Most Competitive LGUs in 2018

Seven local government units (LGUs) in Bicol were awarded with plaques of commendation during the Regional Development Council meeting last September 7, 2018, for making it to the Top 20 in Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) survey in 2018.

The CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities based on an overall competitiveness score which is the sum of scores on four main pillars: (a) economic dynamism; (b) government efficiency; (c) infrastructure; and (d) resiliency. Scores in each sub-indicator are determined by the values and completeness of the actual data submitted by the LGUs. The higher the score of a city or municipality, the more competitive it is.

Legazpi City was awarded as the Most Competitive Component City in the Philippines in 2018. It is also first in infrastructure, second in economic dynamism, 14th in government efficiency, and 16th in resiliency.
