NEDA 5 ARD Edna Cynthia S. Berces confirms with participants Ambisyon Natin 2040 as their vision for themselves and their families
The agencies that participated in the activity were the regional offices of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Department of Budget and Management, Department of Education, and Department of Public Works and Highways. In the spirit of community, the parents, children, teachers, and agency representatives danced together to the tune of Tunog ng Progreso, and the PSA Jingle.
The participating agencies provided pack of goods to 13 poor families
For the Sugod Harong, a total of 13 poor families were visited, interviewed, and provided with pack of goods. The families were pre-identified by the barangay council as the poorest in Barangay Salvacion, Sto. Domingo, Albay. The NEDA Region 5 visited two families and tried to immerse in the interviewees’ lives by knowing their aspirations for their families, status of living, problems faced, and coping strategies. The families showed resilience and optimism in the midst of extreme poverty fueled by high hopes that the government can soon break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
This joint NSM and NWOEP outreach activity inspires families and the community to trust the government, and to participate in achieving Ambisyon Natin 2040: Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay Para sa Lahat.
