The NEDA Regional Office 5 conducted the Training on Project Development and Feasibility Study (FS) Preparation to 36 participants from Bicol University (BU) and local government units (LGUs) in Albay.
The training was held on February 24-26 at the BU College of Education in Daraga, Albay. It was designed for state universities and colleges as part of the technical assistance of the Bicol Project Development Committee of the Regional Development Council. It aimed to enhance the skills of BU teaching personnel on project development to enable them to assist LGUs in the province of Albay to prepare project proposals and feasibility studies.
The training focused on the basic concepts of FS preparation, such as: market, technical, institutional, financial, economic, environmental, and social aspects. As training outputs, eight project proposals were presented by the participants. These were: (1) Proposed Dawitan Eco-Park Development (Legazpi City); (2) Construction of Pantao-Macabugos-Balinsayawan_Tambo Farm-to-Market Road (Libon, Albay); (3) Napao-Vinisitahan Road Network in Cagraray Island (Bacacay, Albay); (4) Alternate Road Leading to Kawa-Kawa Natural Park (Ligao City); (5) Establishment of Bicol Center for Technology Business Incubation Hub (Bicol University); (6) Community Assistance Towards Resilience and Empowerment Project (Bicol University); (7) Traffic Management System in the Municipality of Daraga (Bicol University); and (8) Lifelong Techno-Skills Training Program (Bicol University).
